Welcome to Healthfully Rooted Home where I help busy homemakers put healthy and wholesome meals on the table. I offer inspiration on healthy living and getting back to our roots through old-fashioned cooking skills.
My name is Kyrie (pro: Kee ree). I’m a born-again Christian and a total work in progress! My husband, Joey, and I met in 2018 and he was the one who lead me back to the Lord. I grew up a Christian, but fell away around college. I turned to the new-age for what I thought was “the truth” about this world we live in. Joey led me back to scripture and I opened my heart back up to God.
I love clean cooking and making as much as I can from scratch. However, I also utilize healthy packaged foods to save time. When I’m not in the kitchen you’ll often find me in our homemade shed-gym working out. I’m committed to healthy and non-toxic living from the products we put in and on our body to the disinfectants we use to clean our home.
My husband, Joey, and I have one child so far, a baby boy named Jaxon. He is the light of our life and a spunky little guy! Although I‘ve been immersed in healthy living long before Jax was born, I started this blog because of him.
Why we are Living Healthfully
Jaxon was a really bad reflux baby and as his mamma, I felt so defeated. I researched for months, got bloodwork, and discovered that he and I had several major food intolerances. This sent me on an obsessive hunt figuring out what exactly was in the food we were eating (and what the food we were eating was eating).
As a health nut, I thought I knew what I was feeding my family. I soon found out that I did not! It was then that I ventured into the world of preparing and sourcing our food more healthfully. I learned old-fashioned skills like fermenting, soaking, and milling our own grain. These skills are what helped to heal our guts.
Our Tiny urban homestead
Our little urban homestead has several vegetable gardens, berry bushes, an orchard, and plants and flowers in abundance. We have a greenhouse, planters, a shed-gym, and Joey has an arsenal of lawn equipment. All of this on just under half an acre!
I hope you find that Healthfully Rooted Home is a source of inspiration and education for you. I love to teach about clean cooking and healthy living. My mission is to help busy homemakers put healthy and wholesome dinners on the table. I released my meal plans to do just that – my Fall & Winter Meal Plan.
