Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup pecans
  • 1/2 cup cashews
  • 1 cup cheese crisps
  • 1/4 cup peptias
  • 1 1/2 tbs dried herbs
  • 4 tbs nutritional yeast
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  • Place nuts, pepitas and cheese crisps in a large bowl.
  • Sprinkle the herbs, nutritional yeast, and sea salt over top and mix until combined.
  • Add the olive oil and stir until combined.
  • Place the trail mix onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
  • Place in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool completely, then place in a glass, airtight container.

Notes

Savory trail mix tips

  1. Mix the dry ingredients together before adding olive oil to prevent clumping.
  2. Alter this recipe however you like. Eg. if you prefer almonds over pecans, change it up! Just be sure to use the same amounts of each ingredient.
  3. Don't skip baking the mixture. 5 minutes doesn't seem long but it helps to set up the trail mix so the herbs stick to the nuts.
  4. Wait for the trail mix to completely cool before placing in a storage container.

Savory trail mix is easy to store for later! Just place in an airtight glass container and store for up to 3 months (it probably won't last that long).
