Peanut butter stuffed dates with walnuts are the easiest 5-minute, healthy snack or appetizer. Kids and adults alike love the sweet, gooey, and crunchy goodness.
Set your oven to broil (optional step - only if you want to heat the dates up to make them nice and gooey!).
Carefully slice the date in half without slicing all the way through the date. The pit will likely stop your knife. Remove the pit if you didn't buy pitted dates.
Pull the date apart slightly so the gap in the center is large enough to stuff.
Use the tip of a spoon to scoop about 1 tsp of peanut butter and stuff the date with it. Use more or less depending on the size of the date (they will vary).
Top with chopped walnuts and a sprinkle of flakey sea salt if desired.
Place the stuffed dates on a baking sheet and in the oven on broil for about 2 minutes. Keep a close eye because you don't want the walnuts to burn but you do want to heat the dates through. This takes about 2-3 minutes.

Tips for stuffed dates with peanut butter & walnuts
Right-sized gap - Make a gap large enough to stuff your peanut butter, but not too large to completely split the date in half.
Customize - See the variations section below to customize these dates to fit your family's taste buds!
Heat up - I love dates when they're heated up because they become gooey and rich like fudge. You can either heat them in the oven on broil or the microwave. Either way, these dates don't take much time to heat up so keep a close eye.
in a pinch instructions
